Is my student eligible?

  • Students must reside in the state of Georgia and live within the attendance boundary of a Georgia public school that is rated in the bottom 25% of schools in the state.
  • This program requires prior year enrollment in a Georgia public school, except for students entering kindergarten.

What materials do I need?

  • Proof of Georgia residency: You will be required to upload either a Georgia-issued driver’s license or state ID. 
  • One statement confirming Georgia residency: 
    • A utility bill (gas, water, or electric), a mortgage statement, a bill of house sale, or a lease agreement.
  • Proof of Income: You will be required to upload your most recent federal 1040 or 1040 EZ tax form. Visit the IRS website if you are unsure of where your copy is.
  • If you are Active Duty Military transferring into the state of Georgia within the past year, you will be required to upload a copy of your active duty orders placing you within the state of Georgia in the past year instead of the above residency documents.
  • School enrollment records: You may be required to upload proof of public school attendance during the 2024-25 academic year such as report cards or attendance reports. This will not be required for kindergarten students.

December 1, 2025-January 31, 2026

+ QUALIFIED EDUCATION EXPENSE TAX CREDIT (TAX CREDIT)

Is my student eligible?

  • The student needs to have either enrolled in a Georgia public school for six weeks prior to receiving a scholarship, or be entering pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, or first grade.

Application:

To apply, submit the Qualified Education Expense Credit Preapproval Form at the Georgia Tax Center.

GEORGIA SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (VOUCHER)

Is my child eligible?

  • The student needs to have been enrolled in a Georgia K-12 school for one entire prior school year and have received special education services under an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Section 504 plan.
